The Ethnicity, Race and Multilingualism (ERM) Committee shall be responsible for increasing NRC members' awareness of and knowledge about issues of diversity and equity in literacy research and education. The ERM Committee shall be comprised of the Chair, appointed by the President, and six other voting members appointed by the Past President with approval of the ERM Committee Chair in consultation with the Board of Directors. The six Committee members shall be appointed for three-year terms, with two members being appointed each year, such that two members join the Committee, two members leave the Committee, and two remain on the Committee each successive year.
